FUE hair transplant

At Hair Doctors, every patient receives two consultations before a transplant for the greatest possible safety and objectivity. Is a treatment with the FUE method – the technique of extracting the hair follicles individually – then the best choice for you? Then we will plan your hair transplant at one of our hair clinics in Dortmund, Hamburg or Düsseldorf.

On the day of your procedure, a whole Hair Doctors team will be at your side and give you special attention. Together with your doctor, you finalise the treatment concept and design your new hairline.

Then the treatment begins. First you receive a local anaesthetic in the donor area – the area where the hair is taken from the back of your head. The donor area is usually in the so-called fringe of hair: the area at the back of the head that is immune to hair loss. Once transplanted from there, this hair can keep growing for a lifetime.

The donor area is shaved for the treatment, by the way. In consultation with your Hair Doctors team, you can have your hair cut short shortly before the treatment, so that our shaving is barely noticeable.

Your specialist then extracts the hair follicles (grafts) – each consisting of one to four individual hairs – one after the other from the fringe of hair, using a tiny hollow needle with the smallest possible diameter.

At Hair Doctors, the harvested grafts are then first placed in a special growth solution, which ensures that the hair follicles grow better and faster. Immediately afterwards, your experienced treatment team reimplants them one by one in the recipient area, usually the front of the head or the crown. Our hair surgeons and hair technicians are leaders in performing the FUE method and know how to achieve particularly natural results.

A transplant using the FUE technique takes about eight to ten hours, so please be sure to set aside a whole day for your treatment. During this time, up to 2,600 grafts – equivalent to about 6,500 individual hairs – can be transplanted. Because extracting the hair follicles leaves only very small wounds, the donor area heals very quickly and only barely visible scars remain. In the end, the marks are so small that they can hardly be distinguished from the natural skin pores with the naked eye. The implanted grafts, by the way, fully take root within a few days.

A long day is drawing to a close. But now we need your attention once more: after the hair transplant, we give you a detailed explanation of how to care for your hair and you receive our stimulating hair shampoo for washing your hair in the first few days.

After a few weeks we then schedule a first check-up so that we can see whether the transplanted hair has taken properly and the new hair follicles are healthy. The hair starts to grow after just a few months, and the final result is reached after about a year. We will then of course invite you to another appointment. After all, we both want you to be completely satisfied with the result.
