We clarify whether a hair transplant can be carried out for you, based on how your hair has developed and how your parents’ and other family members’ hair has developed.

Ten days before your surgery date, you should stop using nicotine and also stop taking anticoagulant medication. You should stop drinking alcohol at least two days before the procedure.

If you notice any changes to your scalp, such as red patches, scaly areas or extreme itching, you should see a dermatologist straight away. The dermatologist should then contact us.

When the day of your transplant arrives, you can have a normal breakfast before coming to our hair clinic. It is best to wear comfortable clothes.

When the date of your hair transplant arrives, you will be welcomed by our friendly staff. They will take you to your doctor, who will have a final, comprehensive preliminary consultation with you. This gives you the opportunity to clear up any remaining questions.

Before the actual treatment begins, you will be given an injection of local anaesthetic. This means you will not feel any pain while the strips of hair are removed. The hair can be extracted using two different methods: the FUT method (strips of grafts are removed) or the FUE method (only individual grafts are extracted).

After preparation under a stereo microscope, the grafts can be implanted in the areas concerned. We are committed to true quality work, so the transplant is carried out using the finest Swiss watchmaker’s tweezers, 100% by hand – for a natural result.

Once the operation is over, you will receive detailed information about what to bear in mind over the next few days. This applies in particular to washing your hair. If you wish, you can also have your hair washed at our clinic one day after the hair transplant.

In general, this is an outpatient procedure that does not require an overnight stay. However, you should not drive on that day. We will give you a headband and a prescription for the medication you should take in the first few days.

The Hair Doctors team is also there for you in the early period after a hair transplant. During this initial period, you can contact your personal hair adviser at any time. A follow-up appointment at our clinic is due after ten to twelve months. At that point, the result of the transplant can be finally assessed.
