PRP hair therapy
Fuller, healthier and stronger hair: a treatment using your own blood with special growth factors.
- 10 minutes until the PRP is ready to use
- 8–10 ml of venous blood is enough
- Sterile closed single-use system
- At least 3 × for noticeable results

Gentle treatment with a concentrate of your own blood
Platelet-rich plasma: your body’s own power concentrate for more growth.
A concentrate of your own blood (PRP), injected or applied to the skin, is a simple and safe way of using the latest biotechnology to support the body’s own powers of regeneration and healing. The concentrated platelets release growth factors that control the skin’s regeneration process.
Your doctor takes a small amount of blood and isolates the platelets using a special centrifugation process. The resulting concentrate of your own blood (PRP) is ready to use within just 10 minutes. Made from your own blood, the treatment is well tolerated, as allergic reactions or intolerances rarely occur.
In a few minutes
How is PRP actually obtained?
Producing 4–5 ml of PRP takes only a few steps, and it is ready for clinical use in a few minutes. Only 8–10 ml of venous blood needs to be drawn to prepare the PRP, because PRP isolation achieves a platelet yield of more than 80%. This is possible because a special gel can separate the blood plasma from the other components of the blood.
PRP is produced in a closed system under sterile conditions. The kits used for this are specially designed for the treatment and, for the greatest possible patient safety, are intended for single use only.

In combination with a hair transplant
How PRP works
A concentrate of your own blood (PRP) is a natural hair therapy for hair loss. The plasma concentrate from your own body initiates the regeneration of the area around the hair follicles, increases the blood supply and boosts cell proliferation (cell growth) in the hair follicles. Numerous clinical studies have shown that hair loss can be stopped and hair growth stimulated. By stimulating the area around the hair follicles, PRP triggers a natural process that initiates hair growth.
In combination with a hair transplant, PRP therapy has proven very effective, because
the therapy achieves a faster result,
the survival rate of the transplanted hair follicles increases and
ongoing hair loss is slowed down.

How PRP is applied
Treatment with PRP needs only a few millilitres of blood. The sample is centrifuged to concentrate the patient’s own platelets in a small amount of plasma. This is then injected into the scalp with a fine needle. For noticeable results, the procedure should be carried out at least three times, ideally more often.
We recommend that our specialists at Hair Doctors apply the therapy at the following intervals:
Treatment day
Application on the day of the hair transplant
2–4 weeks later
Application 2–4 weeks after the hair transplant
3 months later
Application 3 months after the hair transplant
Then every 3–6 months
Next application and all further applications at intervals of 3–6 months
